An
estimated 20 Indian b-schools are ready for global
accreditation and the process would be completed with
the help of international accreditation agency like
Association of MBAs UK and SEAA the Indian Accreditation
Advocacy agency. A two day-day conference on International
Accreditation jointly offered by Association of MBAs
UK and the first accreditation advocacy agency, SEAA
(Standards for Educational Advancement & Accreditation)
at New Delhi deliberated at length as to how the Indian
schools would be able to take up international accreditation
in large numbers.
At present only
two schools, MDI Gurgaon and IIM Ahmedabad are globally
accredited by Association of MBAs and EQUIS-European
Quality System respectively in 2005 and 2008.The drive
to global accreditation also has overwhelming support
of All India Council for Technical Education AICTE.
The chairman of AICTE R A Yadav, has floated the idea
that the government would be willing to consider signing
individual agreements with the global accreditation
agencies and also come up with a common approach to
global accreditation standards like the Washington
Accord the government has been negotiating with for
engineering education. details
