MassCoMedia is a new age mass communication institute, which has been formed to train students to be media professionals of industry standard grade.
The institute is a brainchild of Divesh Nath its Managing Director and
CEO. He is also the Managing Editor and Publishing Director of Woman’s
Era and Alive magazines. Prof Avinash Singh has joined MassCoMedia as
the executive director. He was the ex proctor of Amity institute of
mass communication.
Its first location is in Sector 58, Noida having a capacity for 500
students at one time, in a 30,000 sq feet completely air-conditioned
facility. The students will experience a state-of-the-art media training.
At Noida there are 2 large TV studios with commercial level state-of-the-art
TRAIX based studio systems from Sony. There is matching facility for
non-linear editing on high-end Apple computers using Final Cut Pro.
All in all, on the 4 floors of MassCoMedia, Noida, there will be 300
computers, two TV and one Radio studio. The institute plans to run an
in-house TV slot that will be created with the help of content created
by students.
MassCoMedia offers a Degree in broadcast journalism and TV production,
in partnership with Deakin University, Australia. The students can complete
2 years of their degree in India and for the last 12 months they can
be in Australia. It’s a cost effective way to get a recognized degree.
Besides, MassCoMedia also offers a UCG recognized degree from an Indian
university in journalism, mass communication, broadcasting and TV production.
Public relations, advertising and event management is offered as one
year and two year Master programs. The students have an open option
to complete a part of their Master program in Australia, which can also
give them an option to get permanent residency in Australia, subject
to the rules of the country.
A large focus of MassCoMedia will be developing highly trained persons
in animation, both for movies and video graphics. Hence the facility
at Noida has opted to install the best animation software like 3DS max,
Fire, Combustion, Bryce, Poser and others. There is a plan to get the
industry standard SMOKE terminal at MassCoMedia so that students can
train themselves on software and equipment that is of present industry
standard. Students and professionals alike can opt for animation, graphics
and gaming courses.
Divesh Nath says that basically MassCoMedia has a high-end media facility
so that students do not face any problems when they work in a large
media company. This will also reduce the expenditure of these companies
on training a fresh recruit. He also maintains that today MassCoMedia,
Noida has the latest equipment, which is showcased with tape-less studios
operation, very high speed network, Traix based studios, Sony D55 cameras,
Sony Z1P cameras for outdoor shooting, professional photo and radio
studio backed by the latest editing software. The effort will be to
keep the facility updated year after year. All students will also get
an e-portfolio.
